In these cases, it is important to understand how workers&#8217; compensation could potentially affect you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Injured Outside of Work<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Oregon, you can receive up to 100% compensation for any injuries that may happen to you while on the clock. This general rule does not include lunch breaks or commuting to and from work. However, there are some exceptions to injuries incurred outside of the office that still would apply for compensation. Some instances are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Work premises.<\/strong> Entering the premises of your work is often when workers\u2019 compensation goes into effect. This could include parking lots, grassy areas, and sidewalks.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Performing errands.<\/strong> If your boss\/manager often asks you to run errands on your lunch break or after work hours, you may be able to receive workers\u2019 compensation. One eligible example could be if you were going to pick up more staples for the office and then got rear-ended at a red light.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Employer benefits.<\/strong> If you are required to do something off the clock that directly benefits your employer such as attending a conference after work hours, you could be eligible for workers\u2019 compensation.
